How I Find High-Paying Freelance Clients

--

“It’s been a pleasure to work with you; you over-deliver. The content you created not only provided value but also greatly drove our web traffic up.”

Becoming a freelance writer was a daunting but exciting start. As a new service provider, I also had the usual difficulties of finding better-paying clients who valued my work. Due to trial and error, persistence, and a bit of smartness, I was able to get high-paying clients. Here’s how I got there and what I learned in the process.

Identifying My Niche

I started writing about anything — travel blogs, lifestyle pieces, anything would keep me writing. Realizing that helped me see the light — professional writing on![industries like Aud]( technology or digital marketing could probably bring better things my way.

I looked up areas that were in demand and saw patterns of certain keywords appearing in job postings, for example, “freelance writing for technology.” Focusing on this quality became a turning point in the trajectory of my career.

Building My Portfolio

When I began pitching for premium clients, I knew I had to showcase quality and expertise in my portfolio. The fictional industries I wanted to go after (like finance and healthcare) inspired me to create mock pieces.
